Happiness at work
Lorna Robins, Practice Manager of a GP Surgery explains what it has been like to work with Kate.
“Our Practice has always been a “good place” to work, with very low turnover of staff - many employed in excess of 10 years.
During 2006 we underwent many changes, some of which proved difficult to manage in terms of workload and subsequently morale suffered. Towards the end of the year, it became obvious that the problem needed addressing – we became more stressed and our general mood was what can only be described as “tired”.
We asked Kate Burton to help with team building and staff motivation and this she has done for the past few months. Kate has met with us on several occasions to plan the way ahead, interviewed all the Partners and her work culminated in two “workshops” involving us all.
Kate’s input has been extremely effective and invaluable. Our mood is now more positive and with her help we have become re-energised. We know we need to continue our efforts in the long-term – this was not a short fix – but we are more positive, have enjoyed ourselves and we are extremely grateful to Kate for her help.”
